First and foremost, welcome and thank you for taking the time to answer some questions for us. I think it's only right you give everyone the honour of introducing yourself.

Yo, I'm Chanelsd - pronounced as Chanel LSD - the most divine drug. love. I'd like to say thank you to Macabre for believing in me and wanting to do this. It means a lot fr.

So, although your style is so unique, are there any artists or songs that you’ve taken inspiration from to become chanelsd? Even dissecting small parts from different genres and piecing them into one?

God first and foremost. And then I'd say that these days I am more influenced by albums rather than individual artists. But when I was younger I was definitely heavily influenced by Yung Bruh and Yung Lean. The albums 'Teen Dream' by Beach house, 'Feels' by Animal Collective and 'Loveless' by My Bloody Valentine influence and nourish my artistic spirit the most - everything your gonna hear for a little while is because of those albums. I want to take this opportunity to shoutout bladee by the way, my goat.

Are there any artists in the underground that you'd like to work with and think would be an interesting collaboration?

Not really. Only my family Stay Peckish. Everyone in Peckish is the future in their own way. We really the truth: Lanky? Angel. Esdee? A Miracle. Luckenya? Genius. Rico? Ecstasy. Oh and also my wizard friend Yella, they're sensationally wicked.

What in your own words would you say separates you from other artists?

Well the way I see it, all artists are trees in God's forest of art. Therefore each tree has been assigned to bare particular fruit, certain leaves and such. The thing that separates me isn't in my power to say, only to display ya dig? So i don't know, listen to the music and you tell me!

Is there any upcoming news for yourself that you’d like to talk about?

 Hell yeah my first project in a long time is dropping early 2026. I'm really excited for it because its a beautiful externalisation of where im at spiritually and mentally. Its very true, very magical. Also just the fact that it's been 2 years since my last one. It took that long because I had some real inner work to do, some soul searching you know? And I still do, it's a lifelong ting. But i feel that ive found something and it's reflected in this new music so yeah just buzzing really bro.

We've got to say, we can't wait to see what you've been working on and can definitley be certain that all the Chanelsd fans are gassed to hear!

One thing everyone can agree on is that all artists have their own process to how they make music, is there a process to the creation of your music that you stick to?

My process is an act of surrender, letting go of control and letting the music and idea flow.This way, i find, makes every song a new journey, which is super fun. Its all about the service and fun for me. Forgetting time, space and myself and then returning with something beautiful that didn't exist before.

Our slogan here at Macabre is ‘ Embrace The Unknown’. Have you got any examples of a time you’ve made the jump out of your comfort zone? Music related or not?

Cool slogan. The first thing that comes to mind is when I ate an eighth of shrooms on the 22nd of December 2023. Changed my life forever. Fax. The unknown is something to be embraced i think, it's akin to a door behind which lies the treasure you seek. It's something I constantly repeat to myself because its easy to know things, but it's harder to apply and actually experience the things you think you know, you know?

Is there a piece of advice you have heard/been given or even your own piece of advice you think the readers NEED to hear?

Advice? Listen to your heart. Find your bliss and follow it all the way.
